Smoothies are kind of a “thing” in our household.

In fact I am pretty sure I could probably survive on smoothies alone.

Breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, you name it we could probably have one.

This is a delicious dessert smoothie, but you could always add in chocolate protein powder in place of the cocoa and this would be a delicious post workout shake.


Who am I kidding. I just make this when I am craving something sweet and don’t want to feel too bad for indulging. I mean peanut butter and bananas, those are good for you right!?

On another note, added into this recipe is vanilla extract. A beautiful friend of mine made me some homemade vanilla extract. The secret, all that it is, vanilla beans and vodka. And I just recently saw that Costco carries vanilla beans. So, go ahead grab your giant Costco size bottle of vodka and some vanilla beans and start on some handmade Christmas gifts, while sipping on this smoothie. HA! That may be too corny even for me. Enjoy!



2 Bananas

1 Cup Milk

2 Tablespoons Peanut Butter

1 Teaspoon Cocoa Powder

Sprinkle of Powdered Sugar

1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract

1 Cup Ice




Add ingredients to blender. Blend until smooth. Enjoy immediately.

Serves 2

**I will let you in on a little trick. I usually eyeball this recipe. I add all the ingredients into my cup and then pour it into the blender. I have a hard time making a single serving of things, so if I am making the smoothie just for myself this helps me keep my portions in check.
